Terms of Service

Last updated August 21, 2026

By accessing Upnotes, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree, do not use the Service.

What We Provide

Upnotes offers an English study library and related features. Shared library notes are written with AI. We may change or stop features without prior notice. Nothing here is a promise of any learning, exam, career, or other result.

Library Content

Notes, packs, glosses, examples, book notes, ideas, topics, quests, concepts, and other shared library materials in Upnotes are written with AI. They are not a fixed published edition. We may revise, expand, replace, or remove them at any time, with or without notice. They can be incomplete, outdated, biased, or wrong. AI can invent facts, quotes, numbers, names, and sources.

The library is for personal study. It is general information. It does not replace original works, teachers, or qualified professionals. It is not medical, legal, financial, tax, therapeutic, safety, or academic advice. It is not an official dictionary, exam board, textbook, or certification. Word and phrase glosses are study aids only.

When a note names a book, author, publisher, exam, school, brand, or other third party, that is for identification and study. Those parties did not write the note, did not license their work to us, and do not endorse the Service. A book note is a study note about a work. It is not the original book, not a translation, not an excerpt, and not a licensed edition. Do not treat library text as a quotation from a named work, and do not cite it as the original. Access to notes does not give you any rights in third-party works. Those rights stay with their owners.

You use the library at your own risk. You are solely responsible for how you read, interpret, and act on it. Before you rely on anything, check the original work or a qualified professional. Do not make health, legal, money, safety, exam, or other important decisions on the basis of library notes alone.

Your Known and Saved marks and other account data are yours. Shared library text is our product content.

Your Account

You are solely responsible for securing your email account. Access to your email grants access to your Upnotes account.

Tickets and Access

Access to the full library depends on live ticket days on your account. A ticket is a number of days. Preview notes stay readable without live days.

Upnotes is free to use. Tickets are not sold on this site. After you Connect, Settings has a free 7-day ticket while this site is in free mode. Redeem it when you want live Access. It is not automatic. Free access is not a standing right to stay free forever, and not a right to get more free days by opening new accounts.

If we offer tickets for sale later, they will be prepaid days at the prices then shown on the site. You pay once for days that stack. We do not bill you on a schedule. We do not take payment until tickets are offered for sale. If we start selling tickets, the free 7-day ticket may stop. Days already on your account stay until they run out.

You agree not to abuse free ticket access. That includes creating or using multiple email addresses or accounts mainly to obtain repeated free tickets, sharing access in ways meant to bypass ordinary access rules, or any similar circumvention. We may refuse, revoke, disable, or end free or paid access, and may suspend or terminate accounts, when we reasonably believe these rules are being abused.

When access ends or is disabled, Known and Saved marks stay. Preview notes stay readable. Opening the full text of a locked note needs live ticket days again.

Library Use

The shared library is for your personal reading and study in the Service. You may not scrape, harvest, bulk download, or copy library materials to republish, resell, train models, or otherwise reuse outside ordinary personal use in the Service. We may disable access at any time if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken.

Your Content

You keep the rights to your marks, settings, and other account data. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data only to operate the Service. Shared library notes are not your content.

Rules of Use

You agree not to use the Service to store unlawful material, distribute malicious code, or compromise our systems. You also agree not to abuse tickets or free access, and not to scrape or republish the library, as described above. Violations may result in disabled access or account termination.

No Guarantees

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THAT INCLUDES MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. AI-WRITTEN LIBRARY CONTENT MAY BE WRONG, INCOMPLETE, BIASED, OR FABRICATED, AND MAY CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY NOTE MATCHES AN ORIGINAL WORK, PERSON, OR INSTITUTION, OR THAT USE OF THE LIBRARY WILL PRODUCE ANY RESULT.

Limited Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR FROM RELIANCE ON AI-WRITTEN LIBRARY CONTENT. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DECISIONS YOU MAKE, INCLUDING STUDY, EXAM, HEALTH, LEGAL, FINANCIAL, OR SAFETY DECISIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ZERO IF YOU PAID NOTHING. SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS. WHERE THEY DO NOT, THE LIMITS APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

Terms Updates

We may update these terms at our discretion. Continued use of the Service signifies your agreement to the latest version. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
